    Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program ​ The Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program provides home-visiting and case-management services to families whose children have high levels of lead poisoning and live in Berkshire, Franklin, or Hampshire County. Our current services are delivered virtually during the pandemic. The program aims to lower elevated lead levels in children under the age of six by offering support to families as they go through the process of mandated retests, and it strives to make environments safe for the young children who live in them. In additional to families, the Community Health Worker works with health care professionals, homeowners, landlords, realtors, and other community stakeholders. ​ ​ Lead poisoning is preventable!     Welcome to the Family Center! The Family Center is the place for ALL families with young children to come together. We outreach and support families in the 11 towns of Northern Berkshire County. Parent Education We offer single session parenting workshops and longer weekly parent education classes. Topics include positive discipline, child development and self care for parents. Playgroups Playgroups are a wonderful opportunity to meet other parents and children, to help your child learn social skills and learn more about child development. Clothing Exchange The FREE Children's Clothing exchange is a room full of lightly used clothing. It includes newborn to size 12 clothing and children's shoes and books. Parent can come to shop and/or can donate clothing their children have outgrown. Community Resources Our friendly staff can help you get connected to the local resources to meet your family's individual needs. We provide warm hand-offs or simple phone numbers. Some of our most well known events include Touch a Truck and Ooey Gooey Night.     Our Family Support Programs Child Care of the Berkshires offers a variety of family support programs, providing a range of services including: home visiting, support groups, playgroups, parent education, fun family engagement events, information and referrals. The Family Center The Family Center believes that parents are the child’s first teacher and that play is how children learn. Our groups and events focus on supporting families with children birth through age 8. Parent Child+ ParentChild+ is an early literacy program that offers FREE books and toys to help parents support their children's learning. It serves families with children ages 18 months to 3 years. Healthy Families Healthy Families provides support and key parenting information through home visiting for first-time young parents, age 25 and under. Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention The Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program provides home visiting and case-management services to families whose children have high levels of lead poisoning.
